Summary0008803: [Request] Remove BASS Error message for players

I'm forced to create a sound every 1-2 seconds to check if the stream has started. If it's down, player's console is spammed with BASS Error because there is no such stream.

Is there any possibility of hiding the message? Put it under setDevelopmentMode or something. I am pretty sure players shouldn't see such stuff by default.

Have you tried onClientSoundStream, or is there a problem with it?

I need to check if a livestream is up to start listening to it. Apparently there's no other way than trying to connect and see if it was successful.

Also, BASS Error messages include an URL to the file you're attempting to play, could be a high risk of unauthorised entry to your HTTP/FTP files, when attempting to play music from a password protected directory (as the URL includes username and password to the file, eg. http:// admin:password123 [spaces added to avoid making a hyperlink to a 404 ^^])

Yes please, this is a security risk.

Anyone can easily grab those credentials with a regular packet sniffer, so you really shouldn't rely on those to stay a secret.

Moving BASS errors to debugscript might be a good idea to avoid user confusion anyway. To fix this specific issue I'd also suggest to move the connect failure message for streams to onClientSoundStream (to avoid spamming debugscript with irrelevant information).

This patch only remove Stream BASS erros in Console and move to:

onClientSoundStream(bool success, int length, string streamName, string error)
